Frequently asked questions
Single-mode or multimode fibre?
Single-mode (OS2) for the longer runs — between buildings and out to gates. Multimode (OM3/OM4) for shorter links inside a building, typically between floors and racks. We specify per run during the design rather than applying one rule everywhere.
Can fibre carry my CCTV and internet together?
Yes. Fibre is only the transport medium — with the right switches and transceivers your whole network travels over it: internet, CCTV, voice and more, with bandwidth to spare for all of them.
A digger cut our fibre cable — can you repair it?
Yes. We locate the break by testing, remove the damaged section, splice in a repair and re-test the full link before we leave.
How much does a fibre link cost?
It depends on the length, core count, route and the equipment at each end. The survey is free and we quote exactly after it.
Can you connect a villa gate camera to the house network over fibre?
Yes — it is the classic case. When the gate sits beyond copper's reach, a single fibre link carries the data, and the camera is powered locally or over suitable equipment at the gate.
