Do villas in Ras Al Khaimah need GRA approval for CCTV?
The Hemaya approval requirement under RAK Law No. 3 of 2015 is aimed at premises carrying out economic or commercial activities, along with government, free-zone and vital facilities. A private villa used purely as a home is generally not in that category, so most homeowners do not need a Hemaya certificate. Residential and office complexes, towers and apartment buildings are treated differently, because their shared areas are covered. How many cameras does a villa usually need?
Most villas are well covered by 4 to 8 cameras: main gate, driveway, front entrance, rear or garden access, and one or two boundary views. Larger properties with multiple gates, staff quarters or a long perimeter usually need 8 to 16. We confirm the number during the free survey rather than guessing from a floor plan.
Can I watch my home cameras while travelling abroad?
Yes. We configure remote viewing at no extra cost during installation, so you can watch live footage and play back recordings from anywhere with an internet connection.
Will the cameras work at night?
Yes. We fit cameras with colour night vision rather than basic infrared where lighting allows, so you get usable detail — a number plate or clothing colour — instead of a grey silhouette.
Can cameras point at my neighbour's property?
No, and we will not install them that way. Cameras must not capture areas where people reasonably expect privacy. We position and angle cameras so they cover your property and its approaches, not your neighbour's.
