🗄️ ServiceServers, NAS and storage in Ras Al Khaimah
When shared files live on somebody's desktop computer, the business is one hard-drive failure away from a bad week. RADON supplies, installs and supports servers, NAS units and RAID storage for businesses across Ras Al Khaimah — with backup configured from day one.
DefinitionDo I need a server or is a NAS enough?
A NAS is shared storage: it holds files, handles permissions and backs itself up, and for many small offices that is the whole requirement. A server does more — it can run applications, manage user accounts centrally, host a database or a domain, and support software that will not run on a NAS. The honest rule of thumb: if you only need shared files and backup, a NAS is cheaper and simpler. If you need centralised user management or you have an application that requires a server, buy the server.

How it worksOur process
1
Understand the workload
How many users, what applications, how much data now and in three years.
2
Specify honestly
We size the hardware to the job. If a NAS is genuinely enough, we will say so.
3
Build and install
Server or NAS configured, cabinet mounted and dressed, UPS fitted.
4
Migrate and secure
Data moved across, permissions set, and backup configured and tested.
5
Support
Monitoring and maintenance under an AMC, so a failing disk is noticed before it fails.

FAQFrequently asked questions
Does RAID mean I do not need a backup?
No — this is the most common and most expensive misunderstanding we see. RAID protects against a disk failing. It does not protect against accidental deletion, ransomware, fire, theft or someone overwriting a file, because every change is written to all disks immediately. You still need a separate backup, and it should be tested.
How much storage should we buy?
Look at what you use now and plan for roughly three years of growth, then leave headroom — a full array performs badly and is stressful to expand. We size it during the survey rather than selling you the largest unit on the shelf.
Can you set up backup that actually gets tested?
Yes, and it matters more than the backup itself. An untested backup is an assumption. Under an AMC we run restore checks as part of the scheduled visits, so you find out it works before you need it.
